Troop 443: Our Year in Adventures

What a year it has been for Troop 443! From the rifle range to the deck of a battleship to the hills of Catalina Island, here is a look back at what our scouts have been up to.

Shooting Sports (Fall 2025)

Last October, scouts spent a sunny morning at the range learning firearm safety and marksmanship with trained range staff — a favorite outing every year.

Winter and Spring

The troop kept busy through the winter with outings in uniform, and in March kicked off the camping season. At our March campout, the scouts planned and cooked their own patrol meals — including a big pot of noodles that disappeared fast!

Summer Cookout

In July the patrols held an outdoor cookout, preparing and serving a meal for the troop — great practice for summer camp.

Camp Battleship: A Night Aboard the USS Iowa

Summer camp started with an adventure: on July 25 the troop stayed overnight aboard the Battleship USS Iowa in San Pedro with Camp Battleship. Scouts toured the ship, ate dinner and breakfast on board and slept in the ship’s berths. The next morning we watched the sunrise over the harbor before heading to the boat for Catalina.

Summer Camp at Emerald Bay, Catalina Island

The troop spent Week 8 of summer camp at Emerald Bay on Catalina Island. Scouts earned merit badges, mountain biked the island trails, explored the coastline and came home with plenty of stories (and camp patches).

Advancement and Recognition

Back home, scouts were recognized for the ranks and merit badges they earned this summer. Several scouts completed rank Boards of Review this fall, and we are especially proud of our Eagle candidates who have been finishing their Eagle projects and Boards of Review. Congratulations to everyone!

Troop Elections and New Leaders

In September, scouts gave campaign speeches and the troop elected its new youth leadership team. Congratulations to our new leaders: Senior Patrol Leader Zidane; Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders Ashwin and Shrihari; Quartermasters Jaiveer and Hari; Troop Guide Eshaan; Scribes Vihaan D. and Donnell; Librarian Vihaan D.; and Webmasters Aarya and Arjun.
